Naval Aviation Depot Uses Energy Conservation To Improve Infrastructure and Process Quality
THE OPPORTUNITY
Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Naval Aviation Depot (NADEP) provides the nation with the highest quality of depot-level maintenance, engineering and logistics support for Marine Corps aviation. NADEP needed an innovative partner and a solution to replace a conventional and inefficient paint booth system with improved technology that would reduce energy costs, reduce operation costs, increase production rates and fit seamlessly into the existing production schedule.
THE RESULTS
Energy Systems Group provided a turnkey project to design and build a state of the art infrared oven, conveyor, and paint booth system that reduced energy costs by 35% in the paint process. Additionally this innovative technology application is able to automatically adjust the oven’s coverage for the size and mass of parts and is able to provide precise temperature control and drying times to increase quality, speed and efficiency for the paint processes. This $700,000 partnership benefits NADEP through:
