Energy Systems Group (ESG) is a leading energy services provider that specializes
in energy efficiency, sustainability, and infrastructure improvement solutions in
the government, education, healthcare, commercial, and industrial sectors. ESG
offers a full range of sustainable infrastructure solutions including waste-to-
energy, distributed generation, and renewable energy.
In 2013, Governor John P. de Jongh, Jr., announced that Energy Systems Group
(ESG), a leading energy services and performance contracting company (ESCO), has
been awarded a second phase contract to implement comprehensive energy
efficiency and building improvements at 34 public schools and various educational
facilities in the two island districts. The first phase of the project was successfully
completed in 2012, generating approximately $1.5 million in savings during the
first 12 months of operation.
The $10.8 million contract primarily consists of water and electricity conservation
measures. The Department of Education is expected to realize about $1.6 million
annually in guaranteed performance savings, over the 10-year term of the second
phase contract.
This sustainable project will reduce the U.S. Virgin Island’s carbon footprint by more
than 3,600 metric tons of carbon dioxide, providing environmental benefits
equivalent to the removal of emissions frommore than 520 passenger vehicles per
year or the planting of about 1,800 acres of forest annually.
