WEST CHILLER PLANT
& RESIDENCE HALLS
PROJECT
Requirements: Phase I —
Install two 1,200-ton chillers and chilled water
pumping and a 1,400-ton cooling tower module at the West Heating Plant,
convert recreation center to chilled water cooling, install chilled water piping
to Stevenson Hall, and install a plate and frame heat exchanger at Stevenson
Hall.
Phase II
— Install upgraded digital controls for variable chilled water
flow in the residence halls served by the new chiller plant.
Services:
Energy Systems Group
provided engineering, design, project
management, and guaranteed energy savings. Subcontractors were involved
in the installation of the energy conservation measures
.
Construction period:
July 2002 — July 2003
Project Cost:
$5,082,000
(Phase I - $4,207,000, Phase II - $875,000)
Total energy and operational savings (over 10 years) — $6,707,170
