We have endorsed the “Why not choose Whiting” theme as we compete for students throughout our area. In order to actively compete it is essential we provide our students with an outstanding learning environment. Through the efforts of Whiting’s Board, staff and Energy Systems Group (ESG) we are implementing an energy asset modernization project that will be completed before the end of the 2012 calendar year.
This project will not only improve comfort and increase lighting levels but substantially reduce our energy costs to free up our budgets for educational purposes. To go one step further ESG has accepted the risk for the project by guaranteeing the performance of these energy consuming assets.
The School City of Whiting
The School City of Whiting partnered with Energy Systems Group (ESG), a leading energy services provider, to develop a comprehensive Energy and Infrastructure Project. ESG designed several energy conservation measures and infrastructure improvements to enhance the overall learning environment in the Whiting High School, Whiting Middle School, Nathan Hale Elementary School, Whiting Primary School, and the school district’s administrative office buildings.
The project scope includes the following:
• Lighting/occupancy sensors
• Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) repairs
• Replacement of condensing units
• Control system upgrades
• IT power management software
